porch-ing it

I have been off from work this week.... first full, unplanned week in a long time. Had been to that place where I was just bone tired, drained physically & emotionally. The wonders of time off, phone off, no even peaking at office email--waking each morning with a "let the day unfold" attitude.

So here is where I sit today...coffee, two barn cats (Whisper & Chestnut) asleep on the wicker chair, and a gentle rain falling.

They call this a "stay-cation"....I just call it bliss.

I call it awesome! I love your home and how you decorate it. Bliss is correct! Have a super weekend.

My belief is that any people "go" on vacation to get to a place that is serene and beautiful and good for the soul. Why "go" anywhere if you have that benefit on the back porch? :)

Your photos help us imagine that we're there with you.

Looks like the best kind of vacation to me. Lovely!

Your window has such a nice view of the green grass outside.

I am not a good sitter....I am one of those people that attempts to sit...and then, look -- that plant needs trimming, and oh that window needs washing. So I'm doing my best today to just lay low--both porch ceiling fans & kitten at my side are purring. Glasses atop my head so I can look thru this stack of magazines and not notice how the porch floor really could use a good sweeping. Lazy days just don't come easy to me...

Don't touch that porch floor! It's perfect!
If it wasn't for sitting on my screen porch when I needed to I'd be sitting in a padded cell!
