apple box storage

I had this blue metal shelf for sale at my last

October Barn Sale.  It didn't sell, so we took it 

to my booth at the Hixton Antique Mall.  I placed a

fruit box I had for sale on it and realized that this could be 

a fabulous storage shelf in our laundry room.  So I 

"bought" it from myself!

I left it at the mall for a few months with a "sold" on it.....

It added some nice color & display space.  We brought 

it home this past weekend & I gathered up all the fruit 

boxes around the house.  It fit perfectly where I had hoped

it would in our laundry room.  It now holds all our "smalls" 

for the antique mall and our pricing tool box.  We now have

a tidy area to store our items before they travel to be sold.

I love the color of the end labels on the apple & pear boxes...

and they hold a lot!  

This old shelving has the added bonus of folding 

up flat.  Dave & I figure if we ever become flea market

vendors, it will be perfect to sell from too!

Here it is looking quite happy!  The table at

the front is the work table in our laundry room.

container-izing

definition:  organizing by putting things in quite adorable containers.

I do this often, well, to be honest, very often.  I love vintage items that can hold stuff -- baskets, bowls, orphaned boxes & drawers.  They each offer the same important purpose, "hold my things". 



So - with no exception  --- Christmas is no more than "out the door on the way home" and here I go making a switch-a-roo on my little old blog.  Creating a new sweet holder for my words & pictures -- containerizing it. I do this with the seasons, sometimes with the change of the wind.  It is just what I am about and who I am...changing, ever changing -- and always finding a sweet holder to scoot my stuff into.  So, here I go again -- I can feel a new year approaching.  So, polka dots it is -- and two columns vs. three.  A new blog container.   Enjoy...

gather, gather, gather

Might I just say...

I love to gather -- looking, seeking, finding.

I gather lots of things -

my criteria is simple,

it must be: "charming", "sweet", "adorable".

Once gathered, the next step is, of course,

tucking my sweeties in places that will make me smile.

However, sometimes I gather just a bit of an overflow.

Then, where shall I store my sweeties?

Time to gather storage boxes or cans or trays or bowls...

Any excuse to gather is a fine rationale in my book.

So, color me un-surprised when I opened a drawer to find:

chickens galore...

Gathering -- I daydream about such things.

Oh, what adventure next awaits & what will I find?

Need extra storage...pack them and stack them!

I especially love these old woven suitcases with leather straps. 

Here they are tucked under a corner table...sometimes they are at the end of the couch for a side table.
