reprieve

I am heading off to training in Wausau for work for
several days this week.....spending several days away
from home makes me just say, "Yuk!".

So today, I will fill up on home...build up my immune system
toward hotel rooms & Power Point presentations.

I will retreat and find reprieve & solace at the farm.  My
Country Living & Midwest Living arrived yesterday.  My
new obsession, True Detective (a complex, thinking show),
is on tonight.

This will be a quiet day to rest & relax before busy days arrive.

Green, green, green!  Wallpaper in
our Den/T.V. Room makes for a cozy room.

From our Living Room into our Den...
always feels inviting to me.  One vintage
rug to the next underfoot.

Our Den with a couch to curl up on.
We can watch the birds feed outside our window.

Do you find time to just put your feet up and hold the world at bay?

Adding Happy Happy Birthday (one day early) to my sister, Lori! xxoo

my plans for the short term

Books...I am rediscovering books.
Spending far too much on pages of words, but relishing every moment, every dime.

My current book of choice is Visiting Tom by Michael Perry
(yes, Jani, I am finally reading it).
As this story unfolds within a 10 mile radius of my farm, the words are known. Osseo, Fall Creek, Stockmans, haymows, tree lines.....words in my current vocabulary are sprinkled through this book. Although fairly new memories to me, they are still mine.

Next on my agenda, Team of Rivals.

A cold day, warm quilt & good book...doesn't get much better than this.

What is on your current reading list?

lazy

it feels ever so fitting to follow a post titled "work" with the opposite end of the spectrum, so I shall -- 'cause it is the weekend after all...

So, perhaps if I really did win a big bucks lottery I would simply buy us all a round of Weekend! Cheers...and drink up on that.

In all honesty, this is exactly how far I have gotten today (see picture). It is almost 8:30 a.m. and I am pleased to have checked off the following from my Saturday "to do" list:
1. Lay around with ceiling fan whirring
2. Read all my fav blogs
3. Pin (you know what I mean here)
4. Look out window
5. Wonder how lazy this must appear
6. Decide to just not care

Have a wonderful Saturday, lazy or not.
