Shawnee & McCoy

In my barn live 6 young cats.
In my house live 2 older boys - Shawnee & McCoy.

They turn 12 this week.

Brothers -- finding such joy as farm cats...
spotting a deer for the first time in our orchard.

Snuggled together in a basket just the right size for two.

Happy Birthday sweet boys!

We found our boys in 1999. Our cat, Hickory, had passed on that year -- and with broken hearts, we knew we needed two. We traveled to Beaver Dam -- arriving just before the pet shop closed. Shawnee came out of the cage first -- always the joyful boy, with a, "where ever have you been?"
McCoy - the black & white brother was more hesitant -- taking a bit longer to warm to an idea.
For these 12 years they have brought us such love. Bringing them home to this farm in 2007 was a change we weren't sure of. They have thrived. McCoy was a sick cat when he first arrived here, given medication every day ---the well water & the quiet of the farm has provide restorative healing. Both boys have thrived. Happy Day my two dear hearts. Happy Day today!

Awe... Kari.. You are so sweet. You have given them a good home. God bless you.
My neice is looking for a kitten if you know of anyone who has any to get rid of. She just texted me this morning...
Hope to see you in the spring....
Stay warm and cozy.
