so long little friends...

I do so dislike the farewells of this time of year.
When the decision is made to not cover the plants -
to let the frost come.
good byes are said in the first morning light
when their passing is mixed with magic
with sparkle
with frosty glitter

Farewell all my little friends.
I will miss you so...

Do you cry too?

Near the end of August I am pretty fed up with watering my flowers so by this time of the year they're all looking a little worse for wear & tear. It makes it much easier to give them the heave-ho. No crying, just a lot of grumbling about raking leaves. And putting the lawn furniture away. And clearing out the garage so the car will fit. Evidently I'm quite a grumbler.

.....like a baby! I'm getting too old for this "frozen tundra" stuff, and I haven't found a suitable substitute for my screen porch reading spot in the winter.

Yes I cry :-{ I appreciate my snapdragons for holding in there well into now, even the odd head pops up to say hello.

I love flowers, I love green, and I like the first few snows but then... it tend to go one far too long here in New England.

Would love to have you pop over and say hi!
