When I travel off to my office, or on an antique adventure, or to run errands.....upon return, when I put my blinker on to turn into our long driveway - my heart is always most happy. I used to commute a 6 hour round trip to my office in Madison once a week, staying for three full days of power work. And each week I had this homecoming, this moment when, with anticipation, I would turn down our county road and see our farm lights waiting for me. Last night I got home before the snow storm, but Dave was not so lucky. His typical 35 minute commute from Eau Claire became a several hour journey. I imagine he heaved a welcome sigh when he saw our farm.
I guess home is my special place, my haven when the world gets crazy....my cathedral, my slice of heaven. For the rest of my life, I suspect that my blinker will always be on, and home is always where I will want to be the most.
How about you....is your home where your heart is?

Amen, home is where I hang my heart. I am such a homebody too, my safe haven, Blessings Francine.
I could read the love you have for your home in your post. There truly is no place like home. Glad you and your husband made it in safely. Take care

I am a homebody too...but right now I'm between homes. Before I sold my farmhouse of 17 yrs., I could relate to your words and feelings of seeing your home and turning into the driveway. I miss my farmhouse but I knew it was time and the right thing to do....I am looking forward to that special home feeling again when I turn into my cottage driveway. A wonderful post! Home is where the heart is and I've realized that more than ever not being in MY HOME! Blessings~~~Roxie
Nice! To me, home is where ever my husband is standing. So when I stand beside him, I am home.
Hugs, Lisa
Hi there Kari,
I am happy you have that special place to come home to. I am so very blessed to feel the same way you do. I love my home and when I leave it I can't wait to get back home. NO place like home….
We've been looking at houses and condos lately, and they're nice. Time for a change? But coming home... well, nothing can compare.
The robins returned home today....flock of 15 in our apple orchard! Home they fly!
