Gone -- gone.  Heart broken.
My little Shadow -- such a gentle soul, missing since Wednesday night.
Always the protector.
Assume that a predator came calling - and he set himself between it and the baby kittens.

Will miss his eyes of autumn -- and his kind & loving spirit....just too good for this world.

I will wait for you forever.

Oh My heart goes out to you. Sending you a hug and HOPE that he will come back. We had a cat missing for many, many weeks when I was a child and one night he jumped on the screen door, yowling, hanging on for dear life until we opened the door and welcomed him back into our hearts.

Oh I am so sorry! If there's any chance that your sweet Shadow is still out there . . . cats have been known to wander off and come home days, weeks, sometimes months later.

My grandmother's cat was gone for almost a year, and then one day came to the kitchen door.

It is so hard to lose a much loved and special pet.

Each time I say to myself, "there is no control with barn cats...don't let them tuck into your heart" -- but they do -- and I become totally smitten with their sweet personalities and genuine spirit.

When the moments are good & pure, I do thank my lucky stars and thank my dearhearts too. Just the other day I held Shadow closely and thanked him for his fearless protection of his family & farm and his true true heart.

I hope that one day I will go into the barn and there he will be...but for now, I will just miss him and thank each of you for understanding.

Your kind words mean a lot.

I just know that a little pigtailed tot has found him and begged her mama to keep him. He's curled up on the foot of her pink gingham quilted bed. He misses you, but he's happy here too.
My husband thinks I live in an alternate universe... but it's happy here!

Last night, at 8:30 p.m. was one week since we last saw our Shadow.

I shared my thanks for 6 wonderful months of such sweet love & kindness, knowing that some animals and even people never receive even that much.

I counted my blessings, including how his little brother, Chippewa, likely now had family to bounce thru the heavens with.
