Peaking at summer...

I sat on Monday --- not the kind of sitting at my office --- the kind of sitting when you need everything to just stop for a moment, you take a "sigh" -- and sit.   Kittens made me do it!

So, I pulled up a chair near the side barn door & the milk house and sat.  And when I turned to my left, this is what I saw....my own private peak at summer.  Past the potting shed, there was the deck off the summer kitchen -- beckoning, always beckoning.

Where is/are your favorite places to just sit?

Kari,
Oh this is a easy question for me. My screen porch is where I go whenever I need a little of whatever it is I need! I look out over all our hard work in the gardens while the chippies scurry around undoing what we've done and the hummingbirds challenge me to move a muscle or they'll flee. I love it out there!

Hi there Kari, I have several places that I have on our property just designed to sit at. It depends on my mood and which way the wind is blowing or the sun is shining. We just love to sit outside... It's a joke with my husband and I...where shall we sit now? The one of us say's I think we need more chairs..... it's funny cuz we have about 20 outside chairs.... weird things couple joke about huh? Well have a super day. I love your views of your home and outside. I can't wait to see your farm when you have your sale... it looks so nice and relaxing.... have a super week...

Sunday mornings on my porch are my favorite time and place. A good view of the sky to watch for hawks and eagles or to scan the field for turkeys or deer. It's so quiet with no traffic on our side road that you can hear the train whistle as it passes thru the town 9 miles away, and the neighboring farms roosters and cows. Although my view to the south this summer is blocked by a field of corn, I look forward to corn stalk bundles this fall.

I do believe Sitting is a lost art. Jani, Dawn & Diane have artfully described this "skill" and the joy found in it.

A chance to slow down & watch & just be.
